I saw this escort on ebay and it sold twice and was relisted, I offered the guy the start price and he accepted. We took the van and transported down to Kendal to collect it, suffered a flat tyre on the trailer but eventually got going.. Strangely his house can be seen in the foto from the Last sierra I bought.
The car was covered in Tat chrome, I removed it that day and also binned the seat covers. The hood supposedly leaked, but actually once adjusted the real fault was found to be the windows not closing. Faulty mechanisms were diagnosed and replacements ordered. The mirrors wobbled like crazy, the metal castings were found to be broken and electric replacements orderd, the wiring is already there so it will be an easy job once they have been sprayed to match.
Thinking the hood was shot, I also bought a decent full Mohair hood. It’s not been used yet.
I also ned to find the ends to the pipes for the Hydraulic roof..
And try and get the interior to match as it’s a BITSA…
But it’s got a fresh MOT and ready to go.
